Backpacks to Briefcases

March 2, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

“Generations, like people, have personalities, and the Millennials have begun to forge theirs: confident, self-expressive, liberal, upbeat and open to change.” Pew Research

Meet the Millennials. The generation brought up during the “empowerment years” where everyone won and no one lost. Raised by parents who nurtured and structured their lives, drawn to their families for safety and security this inclusive, informal, well-educated, optimistic, collaborative cohort is now 35% of the US Workforce. The Millennial generation packs power in numbers alone – in 2015, half the employees in the world are those born after 1980. Pricewaterhouse Coopers

Are the Millennials a growing part of your organization? Do you know how to recruit, engage and retain them? Do you understand the relationship dynamics between the Millennials and the Baby Boomers?

Join us to explore the newest members of the workforce. As the digital native, random access, multi-tasking, high-expectation segment of our workforce, Millennials bring great promise and challenge as well. Our youngest employees are puzzled with phrases like “pay your dues” and “we tried that already” – and they are inclined to speak up and out, and walk not whine when the workplace doesn’t meet their expectations.

Did you know the Millennials are the most disengaged generation in the workforce. 85% expect to look for a new job within the next year. They might be working for you now, but will they leave with your investment as the economy picks up and a better opportunity arrives? In short, we need new rules to engage and retain this generation.

This practical, active session delivers on the promise to help managers learn from the best and update their thinking and skills.
